A Little Bit About Me
I grew up in Wisconsin and went to the University of Minnesota where I earned my bachelors degree in Family Social Sciences and my masters degree in Elementary Education. I have spent the past 18 years in education. I began my career teaching elementary school in Round Rock ISD for 6 years. After teaching, I worked in Round Rock ISD central administration as a language arts facilitator for the district. I then went on to spend several years as a independent consultant, training teachers all over the state of Texas.
I have written curriculum and model lessons that have been implemented in districts across the state. Most recently I worked in Austin ISD under the Associate Superintendent in the Office of Academics. I treasure the bonds that I develop with my students and their families as a teacher. I pride myself in providing a individualized and differentiated education for each of my students.
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be back in the classroom at Walnut Springs and build these relationships in the Dripping Springs community! I live in Dripping Springs with my husband, Andy and my two children, Ramsey and Graham. In my free time, I love to cook, read, play tennis, watch just about any sport, and spend time with family and friends.
I believe that...
-ALL children can learn, and it is my job to bring out their potential
-my job is to meet the needs of every learner that walks through my door
-it takes a village to help students' succeed. I am an important part of this village and parents are my strongest partner
-we are all lifelong learners
-reading opens doors for a lifetime
-WSES is the most amazing environment to make this all happen!
